designers will strut down this year''s spring-summer runway at Viet Nam
Fashion Week, which opens tonight.
Designer Minh Hanh has won Japan''s Fukuoka Prize in
the Arts and Culture category, for her contributions to the development
of fashion at home and abroad.
Four leading Vietnamese designers will show off their latest
collections – highlighting traditional Vietnamese textiles – at a
fashion show in Italy, on September 17.
Noted designer Minh Hanh and a group of young
Vietnamese designers have returned from a 10-day Italy trip, where they
got a chance to work and exchange professional experience with Stefano
Dominella, the president of fashion association AltaRoma.
A fashion show highlighting the beauty of Viet Nam and Italy will take place in Le Phung Hieu Street, one of the most romantic streets in Ha Noi, tonight.
Viet Nam Fashion Week kicks off tonight at the Ha
Noi Daewoo Hotel, with a taste of 19 collections (600 designs) by
veteran and emerging designers to be shown during the week.
A fashion show will be held by the embassy of Italy
in co-ordination with Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi hotel, featuring
designs inspired by Italian architecture.
